Head Chef Full Time

Job Description
  • Chef to execute and be familiar with the menu currently offered in store. The Chef will need to have knowledge in different types of cooking styles mainly for Guajarati and Punjabi cliental.
  • The chef to take on a head role where he/she is able to manage a group of kitchen porters and other kitchen assistants and able to delegate tasks and manage the process from pre preparation to finished product.
  • It is important the chef is familiar with different types of Guajarati dishes and is also able to trial and test new recipes and introduce new items on the menu
Entry requirements of this job
  • There are no formal academic requirements. Training is provided off- and on-the-job. NVQs/ SVQs, BTEC Certificates, Diplomas , foundation degrees and apprenticeships leading to an NVQ/SVQ at Level 3 are all good to have but for this job role not necessary.
  • Any food safety certificates or tests required can be done once you have been successful in receiving a offer letter. Training will be provided for this.
Outline of Tasks required by this job include
  • Requisitions or purchases and examines foodstuffs from suppliers to ensure quality;
  • Prepares, Seasons And Cooks Foodstuffs Or Oversees Their Preparation And Monitors The Quality Of Finished Dishes;
  • Supervises, Organises And Instructs Kitchen Staff And Manages The Whole Kitchen Or An Area Of The Kitchen;
  • Ensures Relevant Hygiene And Health And Safety Standards Are Maintained Within The Kitchen;
  • Plans And Co-ordinates Kitchen Work Such As Fetching, Clearing And Cleaning Of Equipment And Utensils.
Salary
  • The minimum salary ranges between £20,480 to £25,600 depending on the experience and knowledge in the industry
Working hours
  • 2. This job will be a full time position with hours ranging from 40-45 per week.
